In times of hardship, we create. Artists, musicians, and writers alike, our worlds bleed through our work in ways only we can understand. Our work is our solace. Shards began as a way to allow writers from all walks of life to share their worlds in a time of need. Now, almost three years later, it’s come full circle. Through uncertainty, we are still here. Writers with the need to express themselves with no barriers, to fill up the days stacking up on top of each other one by one. Editors with the need to come together when distance is all we know, to hold on to familiarity through the changes marking each moment the last of its kind. In times of hardship, we create. If not for enjoyment, or out of habit, for comfort. And more than anything, we hope Shards can be that comfort for you, too.
