Welcome to Shards where you will find Glass Mountain online exclusives, feature reviews and the occasional look at favorites from past print editions.

Collaboration is a funny thing. You start out as separate people, separate souls, and somehow meld together to create something whole. Something made from different parts that have all experienced their own histories, distinct from the one waiting to be written. Each stem coming from its own walk of life, finding a common thread in the pile of differences to hold it all together. It’s collaboration that brings us some of the best in life, and it’s collaboration that shows us we are not alone, even when we think we are. This issue shows collaboration in all its glory. Editors working to piece together something to be proud of, and works of art unknowingly being created to fit like puzzle pieces made for one another. At its core, Shards 10 represents us—each of us, and all of us just the same. And without collaboration to bring it forth, it wouldn’t be able to stand on its own for the world to see.
