Welcome to Shards where you will find Glass Mountain online exclusives, feature reviews and the occasional look at favorites from past print editions.

David Lloyd George once said, “There is nothing so fatal to character as half-finished tasks.” Whether you look at the glass as half full or half empty, the truth is that it is only half. Half of what it could be, and half of what it isn’t. Shards 10.5 may only represent a halfway mark, but it is far from falling short of being enough. The work shown in this issue is complete. And as we race towards the next stop, this midpoint shows us that sometimes, a half is more than just a half—it is a whole.
